Thank you for your comment and taking the time to send the links. I will be interested to check them out. In the meantime, I won’t deny your “bad news” is disappointing, but I find the best way to deal with disappointment (especially that derived from being let down when those who we hold in high esteem due to physical prowess, mental mastery, or any other gifts we behold with wonder that serve to motivate or entertain us) is to remember that the person in question is a human being with human flaws. They got something wrong, but they didn’t get EVERYTHING wrong. So I pull out the parts that can inspire and encourage me and I leave the rest. Though we may have been unfairly misled as to the extent of her capacities, I believe she was still a phenomenal athlete in her own right and the words of the quote continue to ring true from a motivational standpoint, regardless of her actions.
