Ever find yourself trapped in a state of self-loathing over something you did or said in one of your many yesterdays?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, that’s exactly the emotional molasses I found myself stuck in when I opened this morning’s newsletter from The Growth Equation<\/a> only to receive a gift:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Finish every day and be done with it. For manners and for wise living, it is a vice to remember. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can.\u00a0Tomorrow\u00a0is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day for all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the rotten yesterdays.\u201d \u2014 Ralph Waldo Emerson<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A reminder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re here to learn<\/strong>, not to be perfect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday’s passed. Tomorrow isn’t here yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any noise about yesterday is a distraction from the NOW we’re meant to be inhabiting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And right NOW you’re doing this- whatever<\/strong> your this<\/em> is, and you don’t need to be perfect!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You just need to be IN IT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beating up on yourself pulls you out, drags you down, and prevents you from engaging in what’s yet to come with a fully engaged, high flying spirit- cheating everybody out of receiving the gifts of your true magnitude.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was reminded that none of us, including myself, has the luxury<\/em> of doing that. Our gifts and light are sorely needed by a suffering world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So pick yourself up and take in a breath of self-appreciation and resolve to clear your slate and start fresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’re exactly where you’re meant to be in this moment, doing exactly what you’re meant to be doing in this moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE<\/strong> there- without “being cumbered with your old nonsense.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all, new nonsense<\/em> surely awaits us. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n
