I was reading an interesting article<\/a> regarding receiving a nominal amount of pay for an idea of your own creation that went on to make somebody else millions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think about situations like this a lot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, because I’m a human being with an ego (try as I might not to be ruled by it<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second, the topic is near and dear to my heart, as hubby is a product engineer\/creator\/inventor, etc… in the outdoor sports\/hunting\/recreation realm and when his brilliant ideas, creations, mechanisms, and inventions go mainstream nobody knows they’re his<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When shown one of his first products in the online catalog of a major outdoor retail chain, my response turned quickly from glee to fury as I noted that neither my husband’s name nor his company’s name were anywhere in the ad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing. Nowhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the hunter guy on TV referring to his <\/strong>latest hunting creation? I was beside myself with irritation at the injustice of it all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Are you telling me he gets to pretend he’s the creator<\/strong> of said product<\/em> “? I demanded of the true creator of said product<\/em>– who happens to be my husband<\/em>!<\/strong> (like I said, I’m still working on the ego thing… \ud83d\ude09 )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yep, that’s how it works,” was his nonplussed reply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stand down wildcat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s taken me some time, but my bec<\/em><\/strong>oming<\/strong> <\/em>at peace with it (or rather the philosophy behind what it<\/strong> actually<\/em> IS<\/strong>-which we’ll delve into in the next post) has been a crucial (and continuous!) life lesson for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lesson is actually invaluable, which is why I realized once I began to get it<\/em>, how hard the universe had been working to show it to me<\/strong>. You know, through those “random<\/em><\/strong>” circumstances, situations, people, encounters, etc… that just happened <\/em><\/strong>to show up in my life in a manner that had me thinking, “what a coincidence- this<\/strong> again!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Except that I don’t believe in coincidences<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we’re meant to, we become aware that “mine”<\/strong><\/em> is prevalent in our lives. For example, just in this post:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
